The lines that set our path

The lines that set our path

Family tradition; respect for a land and our bond with it; the journey travelled by our ancestors. That is who we are and that is what we are proud of.

When our grandfather founded Bodegas Celaya almost 100 years ago, the oxen walked along dirt roads, pulling carts loaded with grapes. Hard roads, often muddy, which are proof of the hard work that our grandfather did to run a

business that has always been and will always be a family business, because it is the essence that defines us. We know that we are what we were and, moreover, we are proud of it.

Today, Bodegas Celaya travels all over the world, taking our wines to more than 50 countries in 5 continents. We still have a long way to go and many lines to draw in our life’s journey.

A full table

A good loaf of bread, a cloth napkin, everyone watching the news and a glass of wine next to our father’s plate. It is the memory of our childhood, of a Spain waking up from black and white. Eager to bring its vision to Europe and the world, to travel, to get to know other cultures. A country proud of

its traditions, of family life, of its love for its land and its way of understanding life, which it now wants to share with the rest of the planet. The best conversations always took place around a table, and that table never lacked a good local wine.

Bottling experiences for three generations

And wine became more than just an accompaniment to our meals. It became a channel for sensations, a memory of moments, a support for smiles and a creator of experiences. Our wines took the leap and reached every corner of Europe. They discovered America and sailed the Asian coast. They saw the sun set in Africa and reached our antipodes. If our grandparents could see us, they would

weep with emotion to discover how far we have come. They would be proud to have conquered the whole world with their wines, to see what their grandchildren have achieved. But, above all, they would be proud to see that we are still us. That we do not renounce who we are and where we come from, and thanks to that, its essence remains in every drop of our wines.

The heritage of a philosophy

Our children are the future of this winery. The fourth generation is pushing forward into a world that, as has always been the case, is unknown to their predecessors. They will no longer drive the ox that pulls the cart, as their great-grandfather Florindo did, nor will they fill the van to travel around the province, as their grandfather Luis did.

The world changes very quickly and they will certainly not do things the way we do them today either, but we don’t care at all. We only care that they are faithful to their history, to the past that has made them what they are. And we are sure that they will be. They will continue to be the Celaya family.
