Knowledge together with continuous production improvements has been passed down from generation to generation until present day.

Past, Present and Future

  • In 1927 our predecessor Mr. Florindo Celaya Aranda starts producing wine using the traditional methods of those days. This knowledge together with continuous production improvements has been passed down from generation to generation until present day.
  • In the year 2000 Celaya moved to its new facilities and is now located on the outskirts of La Roda.  We are currently exporting our wines to more than 30 countries on 5 continents.
  • With the same determination that our predecessors have produced wine for during the years, we will continue offering our customers our very best in order to enjoy and discover the quality of our vineyards and the efforts of our people, reflected in every glass of wine from Bodegas Celaya.

Location, Vineyards, Production, Storage and Ageing

  • La Roda, a village between Madrid and Alicante, has historically been a rural agricultural land. Written documentation of controlled planted vineyards can be traced back to the twelfth century; however it is known that the Romans first cultivated grapes many centuries before. La Roda also forms part of the “Quijote” rout described in the most famous book by Miguel Cervantes.
  • Vineyards throughout our region are selected for their individual characteristics or age and, therefore allow us to produce a range of wines that satisfy most people’s taste or budget. The health and growth of the vines are controlled and well cared for at each stage of pruning, vegetative, growth, ripeness and harvest.
  • Production: This process starts when harvesting the grapes. We meticulously select the best grapes before transporting them to the winery in which the fermentation takes place. Both the fermentation and the following processes use a mix of tradition, know-how and modern technology that ensures the best possible finished product.
  • Storage and Ageing: Our modern warehouse is designed with the aim to create the best possible environment for the conservation of our wine. Parameters such as temperature, humidity and light are artificially controlled in order to obtain an ideal stable environment. For the wine making process we use stainless steel tanks and French and American oak barrels for our Crianza.
